“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
Much derogatory remarks have been said about humanity but could it be that it’s only because media does not showcase the good in humanity as much as they air the bad news? After all, it’s the bad news that sells?
The truth is good news is like a breath of fresh air. You will feel refreshed as you watch this video because love for humankind is the thread that binds these snippets together. We need only to act on the good news and wisdom that we receive. Let it be the foundation on which we build our lives. For there is so much we can do to make the world a better place. The video shows some of them. Watch and have your faith restored.
Perhaps the most touching of them all is when a man gave the slippers that he was wearing to a woman who was walking barefoot. Such is the love taught to us by Jesus, transcending differences in race, social class, or religion.
It brings to mind what Jesus said about the Church in 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” He continued,” For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.” (Verses 12-13) He further said that, “If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.”(Verse 26).
Jesus emphasized the importance of working together for the betterment of all.
And, as Mahatma Gandhi said, we must be the change we want to see in the world. And this video is proof that love indeed transforms.
“I desire mercy and not sacrifice.”
