Chelsea Alease Banton was born on Christmas day of the year 1993.  She was 5 weeks premature which led to developmental disabilities and several other health issues that plagued her innocent life.

In the fall of 2008, then fourteen-year old Chelsea was fighting for her life in a hospital because of pneumonia.  The doctors informed her family that there wasn’t anything more that they could do.  And her mom Colleen already made the painful decision of pulling the life support.  Her daughter had already endured too much.  Her family especially her mom and sister prepared for the worst and said their last goodbyes.  But an hour after the life support was unplugged, something unexplained happened.  Her mom Colleen and the other people at the hospital saw an angel apparition by her door.  Chelsea instantly recovered and went on to celebrate her 15th birthday that year and many more birthdays thereafter.

Chelsea became known as the “Angel Girl” after the miracle in the hospital.  Her life was made as normal as possible.  She went to school, went to church.  She was a compassionate and loving person.  She even participated in the Special Olympics and bore the torch in the 2015 Relay Run.

When Chelsea was born, doctors said she had only 36 hours to live.  But she went on to live 21 full years.  She joined our Lord and her fellow angels just last year – November 28, 2015.

What is the effect of Chelsea’s life on her family?  Her mom attributes the 2008 miracle to the angel’s visit. In The Bible, angels have been depicted as messengers.  And it was an angel that gave a message to the Banton family.  That is, a message of hope.  Since 2008, the family has learned to count each day as a blessing.  It is this faith that has enabled them to live in a state of grace, a state of blessing and gratitude.  And that is a miracle.
